Prior to co-founding Polunin Capital in 2001, Julian was a Senior Investment Manager for EM equities at Pictet Asset Management. He began his investment career in 1990 with Rothschild Asset Management as a banking sector analyst, and later as Latin America Fund Manager. He speaks French and Portuguese and is bi-lingual in English and Spanish. Although based in the UK Julian has spent many years living and working in Spain and Latin America. He received a Diploma in Hispanic Studies from Madrid University and later graduated with an MA Honours (1st Class) in Spanish and Portuguese at Edinburgh University.

Austin Forey, managing director, is a portfolio manager responsible for Global Emerging Markets portfolios based in London. An employee since 1988, Austin has fulfilled his role as Global Emerging Markets portfolio manager since 1994. Prior to this he worked in the UK market, where he was deputy head of UK research. Before this, Austin worked as research analyst covering engineering, and subsequently all financial sectors, including property; other responsibilities included co-management of a mid-cap investment trust, and two specialist unit trusts. Austin obtained a B.A. in modern languages from Cambridge University, and earned a Ph.D. in modern languages from Cambridge University.

Peter joined Sanlam in 2020 as Head of Fixed Income with a mandate to build a diversified fixed income credit business. Prior to Sanlam, Peter was Chief Investment Officer at Tideway where he led the firm’s asset management offering, including the in-house Tideway UCITS funds. Born in Sheffield, Peter graduated from Oriel College, Oxford with a degree in Engineering Science. Starting his career in 1988, Peter has held senior positions at Goldman Sachs, Bear Stearns and Bank of America in fixed income cash, derivative and structured credit markets.

Kingsley has worked in the regulated financial and investment services industry for over 24 years, spending 10 years as a capital markets research analyst focused on company analysis, portfolio construction and risk mitigation. He has spent the past 14 years advising companies on raising more than $1.5bn of capital for over 100 public and private transactions. Kingsley co-founded Chrystal Capital in 2009 and during the past four years has advised on multiple cannabis investments for various public and private companies, deploying over $210m across 10 cannabis transactions for 375 investors. He has established an extensive network of investor, advisor and company relationships across the cannabis industry and is a regular speaker at industry conferences given his deep industry knowledge and unique European perspective.

After working on Aid programmes in developing countries Peter became a financial analyst specialising in Energy and was made a Partner of a leading City firm. Elected to Parliament in 1983, he became a Treasury Minister, then Secretary of State for Trade and Industry under Mrs Thatcher and Secretary of State for Social Security under John Major. Peter ran for Leader of the Conservative Party becoming Shadow Chancellor then Deputy Leader of the Conservative Party Responsible for Policy Renewal. Peter chaired the joint Commons/Lords Committee on financial legislation following the banking crisis of 2008. Peter was made a peer in 2018.
