Jinny Yan
Jinny joined ICBC Standard Bank in early 2016 as Chief China Economist, and leads on China markets strategy and research. Her focus is to deliver China macroeconomic and market insights to internal and external stakeholders. Under her leadership, ICBCS launched the Belt and Road Economic Indices in 2017, which offers unique insight into China’s increasing connectivity with emerging economies. Prior to joining ICBCS, Jinny was a Senior Economist at Standard Chartered Bank. Her roles both in Shanghai and London covered key China-Europe macro topics with a focus on Renminbi internationalisation. Widely recognised as a China expert in London, she makes frequent appearances in media and at high-level conferences.

Peter Doherty
Born in Sheffield, Peter graduated from Oriel College, Oxford with a degree in Engineering and has 30 years’ experience in sales, trading, structuring and risk management in the fixed income markets. After holding senior positions at Goldman Sachs, Bear Stearns and Bank of America Peter joined Tideway in 2010 to start Tideway Asset Management and is now the largest shareholder in the business and majority owner. Peter is Tideway’s CIO and is manager of Tideway in-house UCITS funds and bespoke segregated investment mandates. Tideway focuses on delivering secure income ahead of inflation after fees for pension investors.

Peter Garnry
Peter Garnry jooined Saxo Bank in 2010 and is Head of Equity Strategy. In 2016, he became responsible for the quatitative strategies team, which focuses in how to apply computer model to financial markets. He develops trading strategies and analyses of the equity markets as well as individual company stocks applying statistics and models. Garnry developed Saxo Bank’s Equity Radar an equity factor model that daily scores all the most liquid stocks across the North America, Europe, Asia- Pacific and Latin America. He also contributes to the Saxo Bank Quarterly Outlooks and the annual Outrageous Predictions and is a commentator in media, including CNBC and Bloomberg TV.

Mark Pragnell
Mark Pragnell is Director of strategy and consultancy at Capital Economics With twenty years experience of applying economics to markets, businesses and public policy, Mark has advised and supported numerous companies, trade associations and public bodies in the UK and abroad. He has helped them plan for the future, understand the implications of changing government policy and make their case to investors, regulators and politicians. Mark has worked with the board directors and senior management of clients in sectors as diverse as advertising, building materials, financial and legal services, leisure, mining, motor manufacturing, property development, ports and shipping, rail and mass transit, telecommunications, travel and tourism. He joined Capital Economics in January 2012 having previously been head of a partnership of local authorities, providing strategic leadership to the Thames Gateway development zone, and before that managing director of London-based economics consultancy, CEBR, for nine years. He has also held senior strategy roles at the Consumers’ Association and Railtrack plc. Mark read Philosophy, Politics and Economics at the University of Oxford.
