Our History building a better Family Office ecosystem

GPFO was founded in 2009 with a vision of building a stronger family office community. Since its inception, we have been dedicated to providing a platform for family offices to connect, share knowledge, and collaborate with one another. GPFO has grown significantly over the past decade and a half and we now have a global network of members across over 30 jurisdictions.

We are committed to advancing the family office ecosystem by providing access to high-quality resources and tools. Over the past decade and half GPFO is often credited with empowering the professionalisation of the executive function of the single family office. We want to build on this to bettering the wider family office ecosystem.

One of the unique aspects of GPFO is its emphasis on collaboration and knowledge sharing. The network encourages its members to share their experiences and insights, with the goal of improving the overall effectiveness of the family office community. This collaborative approach has led to the development of innovative solutions and best practices that have benefited family offices around the world.

"I am delighted we can offer this suite of resources and tools to our members. Family offices are often under resourced and can find it a challenge on where to turn to get the information they need" Dr. Michael J. Oliver, Co-Founder of GPFO

The New Research & Reports Database

We are delighted to announce one of the new features of the members portal - GPFO members now have access to a comprehensive research and reports database that includes primary and third-party research on family offices dating back to 1997. The database contains over 200 reports, which are categorized by geography, publisher, and topic. Topics covered include benchmarking family office private markets activity, family office executive compensation, and more.

The research and reports database is a valuable resource for GPFO members who are looking for information on the latest trends in the family office industry. The database can help members stay up-to-date on the latest research, learn with supporting data how their peers are operating, and make informed decisions about their family office's strategy.

GPFO is committed to providing its members with the resources they need to succeed. The research and reports database is just one of the many ways that GPFO is helping family offices achieve their goals.

"We have been working hard to build tools and resources that our members actually want, and make running the family office that bit smoother" Hugo King-Oakley, Community & Private Markets at GPFO

Conclusion

At GPFO, we strongly believe that advocating for the family office is crucial in building a better family office ecosystem, and this is a key aspect of our work. By championing the family office and providing resources and support to our members, they are better positioned to achieve their goals and navigate the complex landscape of family office management. Our advocacy is not limited to just our members, but extends to the wider family office industry. By promoting the importance of the family office and supporting its development, we are contributing to the growth of a healthier and more effective family office ecosystem that benefits everyone involved.

Overall, GPFO plays a vital role in the family office ecosystem by fostering collaboration, providing access to resources, and advancing the understanding of the industry.
