August von Joest, born 1949, is an Adviser to several institutions in Europe and the Middle East, focussing on the international Financials and Industrials Sector.
August v. Joest has many years’ experience in general Industry, the aviation industry, corporate finance and private equity.
He now runs his private office, amongst others, taking care of a number of investments.
He was a Senior Partner, for 14 years, at Odewald & Cie., Berlin, one of the leading German private equity firms.
During his time the firm raised and invested four funds with a total committed capital of > € 1,5 bln.
Prior to that, he was for 6 years Managing Director at Price Waterhouse Corporate Finance & Recovery in Berlin and London and a senior executive at the Treuhandanstalt, the German Privatisation Agency for former East Germany, as well as more than 10 years Director of the Helicopter Division of MBB, now EADS/Eurocopter, Munich, in charge of the national and international sales and marketing activities, including the license programs in Europe, North America, Canada and Africa.
His earlier career included BMW, Gebr. Weyersberg, Coutinho, Caro & Co., Michael Thomas + Partner, including six years in Korea, Hong Kong and Saudi Arabia and numerous short term assignments to Africa and South East Asia
